Stallone is John Rambo: 1st Trailer...

...and would you believe that it looks freaking awesome, proper old school Stallone action. None of your crappy PG-13 nonsense. This looks like a balls-out proper violent action movie and it's Rambo kicking all sorts of ass! Has Stallone done it again, Rocky Balboa was fantastic and this looks just as good!

How much does is also look like an old Grindhouse exploitation movie, with it's A-Team style titles and the blood red movie title. The good thing is that unlike "Machete" this movie is real and on the way. I hope all the violence stays in and is not cut out, but I smell an "Unrated" DVD release somewhere down the line. Roll on release day!

Giovanni Lombardo Radice: A True Cult Star

All actors appreciate their fans, so it's said, but would many of Hollywoods elite join an movie discussion forum and answer all their varied questions without hesitation? I doubt it, but "cult" movie stars are a different breed and John Morgen, star of Cannibal Ferox and City of the Living Dead, is one in a million. For the last week or so, he has been on the fantastic DVD Maniacs forum, answering questions from all angles and he seems to be really enjoying himself and actually somewhat taken aback with the all the kind words being thrown his way. It's very nice to have your pre-conceptions about somebody confirmed as he always came across very well and seemed very likeable on interviews and commentaries; it's good to see he is the exact same way with his fans! So take a gander at the Maniacs forums and perhaps pose your question for Johnny!

Hilarious Movie Deaths...

Courtesy of Gorillamask - some fantastically cool (yet dumb) movie deaths, but the sad thing is I'm sure most people reading this have probably seen most of the movies on show. I recognised a few, but can anyone get them all????

Lionsgate Home Entertainment gave Fango the official word on specs for its 20th Anniversary DVD special edition of Fred Dekker’s THE MONSTER SQUAD (pictured), which we last reported on here and will be released July 24. The movie will be presented in its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio for the first time ever on North American video; the special features are:

• Audio commentary by writer/director Dekker and cinematographer Bradford May
• Audio commentary by Dekker and actors Andre Gower, Ashley Bank and Ryan Lambert

• Deleted and extended scenes
• Monster Mania reunion featurette
• Vintage interview with Tom Noonan (in Frankenstein’s monster makeup!)

Really awesome news, a film I've longed to see on DVD as I only vaguely remember seeing when I was little. Roll on July 24th!

The Soprano's: Coming to the boil nicely!

How good is The Soprano's at the moment? You just feel that the slowly everything is coming together and there is going to be an almighty bloody climax! Tony is slowly looking at his guys and it seems that he is seeing them all in a new brand new light - even coming to argue with his most trusted guys in Hesh and Paulie. In addition you feel that Uncle Junior, AJ and Bobby Baccala are all going to have a say in how the finest TV show ever draws to a close. The first 4 episodes have been great, can't wait until next Sunday's!

The Roundtable: Week 44

Another gem from the Roundtable at the Horror Blog:

"Name the one horror-related item you couldn’t bear to part with."

DVD Trash:

"It would have to be either my Beyond Limited Edition Tin or my Ingrid Pitt signed DVD’s. In fact all my Anchor Bay Tins are very precious to me!"

Head over to the Horror Blog to check out what my fellow horror bloggers could never be parted from!
